Aslan Newsletter of February 13, 2001

Dear friends:

Sometimes the words of a young person can express far more than the words I might be able to write. As you read Mary’s heartfelt prayer on the reverse side of this letter, I hope you will better understand just how important your support of this work is and how you are helping change lives through your prayers and gifts to Aslan. Mary is one of our teenage students in Red Bank. In this letter she pours her heart out to God. I hope you can see and feel the depth of her need. And as Mary writes, "Lord please make sure that I am headed down the right path," I know you will see that God is answering her prayer each and every day through your love and your prayers.

Nearly all of our Aslan young people like Mary come into life facing seemingly insurmountable obstacles. They begin life and grow up "without" . . . without fathers, without adequate medical care, without emotional support, without the help they need to make good and right choices in life. Most of them spend most of their time just trying to survive. We are seeing more and more of our kids live with neither their fathers or their mothers. They end up basically raising themselves. Aslan is a safe harbor where they can anchor themselves to hope through God’s wonderful love.

Many of you who receive this monthly letter give generously so that Aslan can be here for these kids. For those of you who haven’t contributed in a while, please know that we really need both your financial support and your prayers. Much more needs to be done and will be done, with your continued help.

Most sincerely,

Craig
